The mission of the graduate digital health leader micro-credential is to prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with and effectively use digital tools and emerging technologies important in a rapidly evolving digital health care landscape. Competencies related to governance and management will facilitate professional preparation and empowerment for you to assume leadership roles to effectively implement and use digital platforms to improve health outcomes.

Completion of the digital health leader micro-credential will help enable you to utilize digital tools and platforms; compare and contrast various project management frameworks; evaluate governance principles in sustaining, high-performing digital health ecosystems; implement safeguards to prevent cybersecurity threats; assess stakeholder needs both internally and externally; demonstrate leadership qualities to support stakeholders in adopting and using digital health tools; and evaluate and implement process improvement methodologies.

Students enrolling in the stand-alone option of this micro-credential are required to submit proof of a prior bachelor’s degree. For more information, please refer to Additional Requirements for Graduate Programs.

Certification, State Board, and National Board Exams

Certain state certification and licensure boards have specific educational requirements for offerings to lead to a license or certification that is a precondition for employment in a recognized occupation. Prospective and current students must review Purdue Global’s State Licensure and Certifications site to view program and state-specific licensure information.

Unless otherwise specified, Purdue Global's offerings are not designed to meet any specific state’s licensure or certification requirements. 

You are responsible for understanding the requirements of optional certification exams. Such requirements may change during the course of your studies. You are not automatically certified in any way upon completion of an offering. Although certain offerings are designed to prepare you to take various optional certification exams, Purdue Global cannot guarantee you will be eligible to take these exams or become certified. Your eligibility may depend on your work experience, completion of education and/or degree requirements, not having a criminal record, and meeting other certification requirements.

Completion of this micro-credential may qualify you to earn the CAHIIM Digital Health Leader (DHL) certificate. The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) is the accreditor of Purdue Global's DHL certificate program. The DHL program’s accreditation has been affirmed through 2030–2031.
